Fuddruckers, Tunica, MS

Fuddruckers

MAP

Fuddruckers is a burger chain with a location in Fitzgerald's Casino in Tunica County, MS. I normally don't review chains but this is the only Fuddruckers in this area.

I go to the casinos every now and then but I haven't been going much lately. I went to Fitz for a little while the other day and after playing for a few minutes my friend and I went to eat. My friend got a burger and he said it was really good. I've had their burgers before and they have always been good.

I ordered loaded nachos. They also have a burger "dressing" bar so you can add extra stuff like lettuce, tomatoes, etc.

As a side note, if gambling is your thing, specifically table games, I might recommend Fitzgerald's. They have $5 minimum full pay blackjack most days with favorable rules and I haven't seen $5 blackjack anywhere else in Tunica since COVID.

They also have $10 craps and Mississippi has the most favorable rules around. No up front commission automatic buy and lay bets and 20x odds on all line bets. The only disadvantage is the craps game is a single dealer "tub" game and only about 6 or maybe 8 people can play at one time and they have limited table game hours.

Otherwise, if you're in the area and want a good burger, this is a good choice.

Elwood's Shack, Memphis, TN

Elwood's Shack

MAP

Elwood's is a small cafe on Park Avenue just west of South Goodlett Street. I went there this past Sunday for lunch on the way to a rehearsal.

The food was good but the service was very slow. I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it took literally a full hour to get it and that was after I asked about it. I was almost late to rehearsal. The guy said they were really busy but they weren't THAT busy.

That said, I did really like the food but I had to choke it down so I wouldn't be late to where I was going. I don't remember the price but it was about average for what it was. I will go back and try them again and see how the service goes.

Catfish Hut, Enid, MS

Catfish Hut

MAP

Catfish Hut is a small catfish restaurant on Highway 206 in Enid, MS a little north of Highway 32. I went there today for lunch and it was really good.

I ordered the two piece fish platter which was fish and a potato and included the salad bar. The total with a drink and tax was just under $20 which is very reasonable for what I got. I had never heard of them until recently and had a day off and decided to try them.

I was very pleased and will definitely be back!

Waffles and Pancakes, Marion, AR

Waffles and Pancakes

MAP

Waffles and Pancakes is a breakfast and lunch cafe in Marion on Highway 77 a few blocks north of I-40/I-55. I went there a few weeks ago for the first time and it was so good I've been back several times already.

The prices are really reasonable for what you get. The first time I got the breakfast combo which was eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hash brown, and two pancakes for only $12.99. The second time I got the country fried steak combo which was two pieces of steak with hash browns, eggs, and toast for only $13.99. I've also had their cheeseburger which tastes like a bacon burger even though it didn't have bacon on it and their club sandwich. All of these were really good and very reasonably priced. Also, the food comes out pretty quickly.

I highly recommend them and I will definitely be back!

Airport Grocery, Cleveland, MS

Airport Grocery

MAP

Airport Grocery is a restaurant on Highway 61 in Cleveland just north of Highway 8. I was passing through Cleveland a few days ago and remembered this was on my list so I stopped for lunch. It was fantastic.

I ordered a sausage and cheese and a small order of tamales. The sausage and cheese plate was one of the best I've ever had. The sausage had onions and jalapenos on it and tasted great and there was plenty of cheese. The tamales were also very good. They serve "delta" style tamales.

The price was reasonable. With a drink and tax the total was just under $20. I highly recommend them!

Andreys Pizza and Grill, Marion, AR

Andrey's

MAP

Andrey's is an all you can eat Mexican buffet and pizza shop on Bancario  Road in Marion, in the strip mall that is at the southwest corner of I-55 and Highway 64. I went there a few weeks ago for the first time not knowing this. I think they have a regular menu but mostly it's a buffet and they have Mexican food, a salad bar, and pizza included in the buffet price.

The food is really good and the price is very reasonable. Including a drink and tax, every time I've been it's been $18.20 but I think it's slightly cheaper if you pay cash. One thing worth mentioning is, queso is included which you serve yourself. At a full service Mexican restaurant queso alone is usually $5 or more for a small bowl.

They also come around with various pizzas at serve at your table for no extra charge and they will make a specific pizza if they don't have it at your request. The last time I was there they brought around some cheesecake dessert pizza that was fantastic!

I highly recommend them for great food and great service. Since going for the first time a few weeks ago I've already been back several times with friends.

These pictures are from several different trips.
