Celtic Crossing, Memphis, TN

Celtic Crossing

MAP

Celtic Crossing is an Irish pub on Cooper Street between where Memphis Drum Shop and Young Avenue Deli is, on the west side. I had been there before but not recently.

I went there yesterday for lunch with a friend. I ordered an appetizer of pimento and cheese dip and and entree of fish and chips. The appetizer was really good. The entree was also good but not as good as I was expecting. There was nothing wrong with it at all and I would definitely get it again but I'll try some of their other items next time. The service was very good also. They weren't very busy which surprised me but it was a bad weather day and that may have affected it.

My friend ordered a corned beef sandwich I think and an appetizer of bacon wrapped shrimp. He said both of his items were good also.

My total was about $27 including a drink and tax and for what I got it was about an average price. I will definitely be back.

Other trips in the last few days

Lost Pizza, Southaven - tamales again and queso. Their tamales are very good (the queso is too).

My Favorite Place, Cordova - chicken quesadilla

Chef Tam's Underground Cafe, Memphis, TN

Chef Tam's

MAP

Chef Tam's Underground Cafe is on Union Avenue basically at the corner of Marshall Avenue. I've posted about it before but they have moved in the last year or so to this new location so I wanted to give them a new review.

First, they are fantastic! I've been there twice this past week and both times it was exceptional. The first time I got the "Friday Night Live" which is catfish. For the sides I got the Muddy Water Mac and Cheese (mac with crawfish, crab, and shrimp) and bacon cheddar potatoes.

The second trip, I got the same thing but also go an order of blackened shrimp tacos. My friend got the Tot'choes which were tater tots fixed like loaded nachos and fried fish but I don't remember which specific entree he ordered.

Everything was fantastic but the Muddy Water Mac and Cheese and shrimp tacos were particularly good. I highly recommend these items and this restaurant in general. I also tried a bite of the Tot'choes and they were great also.

The service has also always been very good too!

My bill was about $27 before tip which is pretty good considering the amount of food I got. I took most of the fish home and at it the next day.

Chef Tam's is worth a trip!

Misc places

I haven't been to any new places recently but here are a few pictures from places I have been in the last couple of weeks. I just got over pneumonia so I haven't been going out the last few weeks much at all.

One and Only Barbecue, Southaven - One of the best chicken quesadillas around

Lost Pizza, Southaven - A while back I mentioned their tamales but just recently got to try them. Really good! This is from two different trips. The sandwich is called the Mr. G.

Milano's, Southaven - one of the best cheap deals. Less than $7 for two huge pieces of pizza and a drink

Cafe Ole, Memphis - Coastal nachos. Really good but this was the first night I was beginning to feel sick and I didn't eat much of it. They were really good though, what I did eat.
