Wolf River Cafe is a small family cafe in Rossville on Highway 194 which is Main Street, at the corner of Front Street. I went there a few days on suggestion of a friend who had someone suggest it to him.

We went early because everybody says they get pretty crowded around 5:00 PM and they are only open until 8:00 or 8:30.

I ordered catfish and added a few pieces of shrimp. My friend ordered the same thing and he also got an order of loaded fries.

The food was great and services was fantastic. The prices are reasonable. My total was only about $26 including a drink before tip. I highly recommend them if you're in the area.

Tommy's Burgers

Tommy's Burgers is a new burger joint on Park Avenue just west of Mount Moriah Road on the south side next to the gas station. I think they are a chain and I normally don't review chain restaurants but they are new to the area and were pretty good.

I went there a couple of Sunday's ago after a rehearsal. I ordered a burger and fries but they have a lot of things on their menu including breakfast which I've heard is really good as well and Mexican dishes as well. I think they used to be a taco place.

The burger and fries were pretty good and reasonably priced considering it is a full service diner and not just a fast food place. The total was about $14 for a burger, fries, and drink combo and the service was really good.

The seating is all booths except for a few counter seats. I will definitely be back.

The Happy Greek Cafe, Memphis, TN

The Happy Greek is a cafe on South Highland a little north of Walker Avenue on the west side. I went there a couple of weeks ago based on the suggestion of a friend and it was fantastic! The owners are actually Greek and they know what they are doing.

I ordered a Feisty Gyro which is a gyro with lamb and beef, topped with grilled onion, jalapenos, bell pepper, and mushrooms. It was absolutely wonderful and my total with a drink was only around $14.00.

The owner came out and spoke to us and offered my friend and I a free piece of baklava which was also great. I will definitely be back!

  

Moctezuma Grill, Forrest City, AR

Moctezuma Grill is a Mexican restaurant in Forrest City on Washington Street a few blocks north of Highway 70. I went there a couple of weeks ago actually thinking I was going to a different Mexican place but I wound up there by accident because I remembered the wrong name. It was a fantastic mistake.

The food was really good and so was the service. The prices were about average. I think my meal was around $20 or so.

I ordered a chicken dish, I think it was called the Moctezuma Chicken. It was chicken with spinach and cheese sauce and it was great. I'm glad I made the mistake and I will definitely be back!

Orale is a relatively new Mexican restaurant in Memphis on Whitten Road basically at the corner of Hillshire Drive. I went there a couple of nights ago with a friend based on his suggestion and it was fantastic.

I ordered a chicken chimichanga which was huge, and some chori-queso and everything was great. It's weird to mention but I ordered sweet tea which I usually don't do and it was really good.

My friend ordered the pechuga suprema  which is chicken with ham and queso sauce.

My total was only about $22 before tip which was very reasonable for all the food. I took most of it home and ate it for dinner the next day.

It's a small family owned cafe and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it!

 

 

David's Burgers, Little Rock, AR

David's Burgers

David's is a fast food burger joint in Arkansas (and probably other places). I don't normally review fast food places but we don't have them near me and they were really good, ESPECIALLY for a fast food place, and the service was excellent.

The price for a number one combo was only about $11 and it was really good. I'm not going to go into many details since it's a fast food place but if you're in the area it's worth a visit!

The Chicago Steakhouse is a semi-upscale steakhouse in Tunica at the Gold Strike Casino (obviously). Gold Strike is one of the three casinos that you come to first as you come from Memphis. I went there a couple of weeks back with one of my best friends and her two daughters. I haven't been to Tunica, or any casino, in a couple of years but I got a coupon for $80 in free food and some free table play coupons because I did used to gamble.

The service was fantastic and food was equally good. The total bill was somewhere around $240 for all four of us which isn't bad at all considering it's a steakhouse and considering what all the ordered.

I ordered a filet and a bowl of French onion soup, one of the girls ordered a sirloin (I think), and my friend and her other daughter ordered a creamed spinach side item, and I ordered a charcuterie board for all of us and everything was fantastic.

I had a small handful of table play which I played at Baccarat. I played all eight of them on the banker like you're "supposed" to and I got my butt kicked, but I won enough to leave for a tip.

I highly recommend them. At one time or another I've been to the steakhouse at every casino in Tunica as well as a few in Las Vegas and some non-casino related steakhouses other places. It's right up at the top of the list.
