Pho Saigon is a Vietnamese restaurant on Poplar Avenue just east of Racine Street, or just east of Amro Music store. I went there a few weeks ago after a training class I was taking in the area.

Overall I really liked it. I ordered an appetizer of spring rolls which I didn't care for much but I'm sure they are just fine. They were not fried like you see in many other Asian restaurants but wrapped in rice paper. I saw several other people that seemed to be enjoying them, it just wasn't for me.

The pho I ordered on the other hand was fantastic. I don't remember which specific dish I ordered but it was noodles with shrimp, chicken, and steak. I took about half of it home and had two more meals the next.

It seems like the price was a little over $20 including a drink so the prices are pretty decent. I will definitely be back.

Windy City is a bar and grill in downtown Hernando on Commerce Street on the square just west of Highway 51. I had been there before but apparently did not post about it.

I went there last week and ordered catfish based on a friend's suggestion and it was really good. I also got a sausage and cheese plate. I didn't realize it was going to be as much food as it was and I took most of the sausage plate home and had enough for two more meals.

The prices are a little higher than average but the food and service is good, and it's on the downtown square so that's sort of to be expected.

I will definitely go back!

El Patron is a Mexican restaurant in Bartlett on Stage Road right by the tracks at Bartlett Road. I went there this past weekend to have dinner with a good friend who was in town.

I ordered a chicken chimichanga and it was pretty good. The prices were about average. When I was done eating and had already paid I asked for another drink and I was charged for it. I was a little annoyed by that but it's not that big of a deal. Otherwise the service was really good.

Rancho Grande is a Mexican restaurant in Southaven on Getwell Road a couple of blocks south of Goodman Road. I went there a few days ago mainly because their marquee says "best cheese dip in town" or something like that.

Honestly, it may have been. It was really good and was certainly some of the best I've had. It had a lot of flavor!

I ordered a quesadilla, a couple of tamales, and the cheese dip and everything was good. The service was also very good. I will definitely be back!

Molly's is a staple in Memphis and it's been around for a long time but I hadn't been there in many years. It's on Madison Avenue in Midtown just west of Cooper Street. The food was really good and service was as well.

I ordered the enchilada combo with one beef, one chicken, and one shrimp. I will definitely be back! I can't remember how much it was but it was reasonably priced.

Also, just in case this matters to you, they are a "posted property" meaning they don't want you to bring firearms in even if you have a permit.

Coletta's is a long time Italian restaurant in Memphis with two locations. I went to the older location on South Parkway just east of I-240. I had never been to this location before this trip.

Honestly, I wasn't all that impressed. The service was good but the food wasn't much more than average. I ordered lasagna and spaghetti and an appetizer of fried ravioli. The entree was decent but the ravioli was pretty bland.

I'm not saying I won't go back but I'll try something different if I do. My total was about $36 including a drink, tax, and tip so the prices aren't bad. I know other folks that have been there and said it's really good.

Mitchell's is a small breakfast and lunch restaurant in West Memphis basically at the corner of East Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Avenue a few blocks east of I-40. I was passing through West Memphis on the way to Missouri and went there a couple of days ago based on reviews I saw on the internet, and it was fantastic!

The owner was there (I assume he works there every day) and he was a really nice guy. He told me about his family and how all the items on the menu are named after his family members.

I ordered the Kay's Three Alarm burrito and it was great! I will definitely be back when I can. Unfortunately I don't get over to West Memphis very often but it's on my list now!

The prices were pretty good as well. My total was just under $20 including the meal, a drink, tax, and a drink.
