Three Guys is a pizza restaurant in Southaven on Church Road just east of Highway 51. I went there a few days ago to try a limited special that I heard about, Jalapeño Popper pizza. I thought I had reviewed them before but I couldn't find an entry for them.

The reviewer that I saw said the popper pizza was great but to be honest, I wasn't that impressed. It was okay but it didn't taste like Jalapeño poppers. It just tasted like bacon pizza with jalapenos on it.

I don't remember the total but a small pizza was $18 before tax.

I have been there a few times before and the pizza has always been good so I do recommend trying them out.

Old Whitten Tavern is a bar and grill on Whitten Road a couple of blocks south of Reese Road or a few blocks north of I-40. I went there this past week for the first time. It's taken me a long time to get there. A friend of mine owned it and now his son owns it.

I ordered chicken fried chicken with a side salad and macaroni and cheese. To be honest, the chicken was okay but nothing special. The salad was really good, especially the blue cheese, and the mac and cheese was good.

My friend pasta of some kind and he said it was really good. I don't remember exactly how much my total was but it was very reasonable for what I got. I want to say my total was around $22 or $23 before tip.

The service was really good as well. I will try something different next time I go. I do recommend trying them out.

Highway 51 Fish and Steak is a small restaurant on Highway 41 a couple of miles east of Highway 15. I went there last weekend to try it out and was very impressed.

It's worth nothing that they only take cash, no credit cards and no out of town checks. The prices are incredible though.

I ordered the all you can eat catfish which is only $14! My friend ordered that as well and also a steak. My total with two cans of Diet Coke and my total was only about $21. My buddy's total was only $35.

In addition to the fish, the meal came with two sides and hush puppies.

I highway recommend them if you're in the area.

Hollywood Casino (not to be confused with "The Hollywood" diner that I've posted about before which has nothing to do with Hollywood Casino) is the furthest casino south of Memphis, TN and now since several other casinos have closed, sits by itself on Casino Strip Resort.

I haven't been there recently I haven't gambled there in years so I had to pay. They used to have a small diner that had a really good Chinese section on the menu and that's what I went there for but I didn't know they had changed it. They combined their buffet with that diner. They have a wide variety of choices like the buffet did but it's cooked to order rather than all you can eat.

I went there a couple of weekends ago and ordered General Tso's Chicken and a slice of meat lovers pizza. The prices were a little high, I think I spent close to $30 not including a tip but the food was really good. I definitely recommend them if you are in the area.

The casino also has a grill that serves sandwiches and a nice steak house. I haven't eaten in the steak house in many years but it used to be really good.
