Lafayette's
MAP
Lafayette's is a restaurant and music venue at the corner of Cooper and Madison in midtown Memphis. They also have a location in Orlando, FL but I've never been there.
I've posted about Lafayette's before, so I'll keep it short. I also don't normally post an individual entry for somewhere I've already posted about, but I thought this dish deserved it's own page.
I went there tonight to hear a local big band, the Memphis Jazz Orchestra, a group I've sat in with a few times. I got the Midtown Mac and Cheese, which is macaroni and cheese with white cheese sauce, with grilled, seasoned chicken on top, and it was fantastic!
It's a little pricey, but as I understand it, about the same as other locations in Overton Square. It was just under $20.00 for the entree and a drink including tax, but it was worth every penny. There was also a $3.00 cover charge, and it cost $3.00 to park. There is some free parking in the area, but you have to get lucky to get a place so it's just as easy to pay the $3.00 and park in a covered garage which is right across the back alley from the location.
I eat out too much but it's something I enjoy and decided to start a food blog, so here it is: Reviews of restaurants that I've been to.
Also, my personal web page. No registration or ads, just my personal page with stuff about my hobbies.

Mister P's Buffalo Wings, Southaven, MS
Mr. Ps
MAP
Mr. P's is a wing place at Goodman Road and Elmore Road in Southaven, next to the Guns and Ammo store. They also have a location in Cordova but I haven't been to that one. I went to the location in Southaven for the first time a couple of weeks ago and went back again a few days ago on 9/18 for the burger. I had heard their burgers were really good, and what I heard what right.
I got a regular burger and fries and was really impressed. It wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but it was one of the best. The prices are about average for this type of restaurant. All together for a cheeseburger, fries, and drink, before tip it was a little under $13.00
They are open until 10 PM during the week, 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 9 PM on Sunday. Another nice perk is that it's really close to my house.

Cajun Seafood and Grill, Southaven, MS
Cajun Seafood and Grill
MAP
Cajun Seafood is a new restaurant on Main Street/Stateline Road in Southaven, just east of Millbranch, near the El Patron Mexican restaurant. We ordered dinner from there a few nights ago at work and I thought it was very good. I got a shrimp dinner and one of my coworkers got crab cakes.
I didn't get a picture of my shrimp dinner. My dinner was good and my coworker said the same thing about hers. It came with a bunch of fries and I couldn't eat them all and another coworker ate the rest of them and he said they were really good.
Apparently they don't have a website. The location has been several different restaurants in the last few years, and this current restaurant hasn't been open very long. I'll definitely try it again sometime.

Incredible Pizza, Cordova, TN
Incredible Pizza
MAP
Incredible Pizza is a chain with a location near me in Cordova in the shopping center that is at Germantown Road and Cordova Road. I went there yesterday on invitation from a friend, the preacher at the church I go to. At first, I thought it was a group outing just because of the location but once I got there, it was just me and him and his wife. It's a family play place similar to Chuck E. Cheese.
It turns out based on what I saw, lots of people go there because of the buffet, at least on Sunday after church. Yesterday, there were more older couples there than kids, although there were plenty of kids there too.
It's been there for a few years but I had never been there until yesterday, and I was actually pretty impressed. There is of course a large selection of pizzas, but there is also an Italian food station, a Mexican food station, a home cooking food station, a salad bar, and a dessert bar.
I got some ham, dressing, macaroni and cheese, a couple of pieces of pizza, and a salad, and it was all actually pretty good. I don't know how much it cost because my friend paid for me before I got there, but I assume it was probably about average.
I will definitely be back.

The Cottage Restaurant, Memphis, TN
The Cottage
MAP
The Cottage is a small family diner on Summer Avenue just east of Graham, in the shopping center near Dollar General. It's a Memphis staple. It was at the corner of Summer and Holmes for many years but a few years back it moved to the new location and I had been there many times. I've been to the new location several times but had the breakfast buffet each time until yesterday.
Yesterday I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. It was decent. It tasted fine but was a little tough. I wasn't unhappy with the meal, it was just a little chewy. Prices are reasonable. I believe the total was about $12.00 before tip including a drink.
It's currently owned by an Asian man and they have a Thai menu. I haven't tried any of the Thai food yet but I've heard it's good.
I recommend trying it and will be back.

Mish-Mash time again
A review of places I've been in the last few weeks that I had already posted about in the past.
Caminos Memphis - The Pachuga Suprema, Chicken with ham and cheese sauce
El Gallo Giro - Chicken quesadilla
Casa Mexicana (Southaven) - Chicken quesadilla
Friday's (Southaven) - Fish basket
IHoP (Millington) - Mushroom burger
La Guadalupana (Winchester Road) - Alambres con pollo
Riverview Buffet, Tunica at Fitzgerald's Casino - Fish, shrimp, spaghetti, mac & cheese
Tops BBQ (Southaven) - BBQ Fries
Mike's Timesaver - Breakfast burrito, sausage biscuit
Renee's Sandwich Shop - Cheeseburger and onion rings
Sakura (Germantown) - Chicken Teriyaki
Ruby Tuesday - Chicken Bella, salad with various choices
Salsarita's - Burrito with chicken
South of Beale - The Philly Cheese-steak Burger
Bonus comments: This was literally the best burger I've ever had anywhere. Unfortunately it isn't a regular item. It was the special that day.
South of Beale - I don't remember which burger, but the sushi is seared Tuna and it's great, also this was a different day than the picture just above.

Marco's Pizza, Southaven, MS
Marco's
MAP
Marco's is a pizza chain with numerous locations. I order from the one in Southaven from time to time, frankly because they are open later than most other places. Their pizza is good, but it's expensive and I only order when I can't go out for some reason. For instance, I've been off work sick for the last couple of days and haven't felt like leaving the house so I ordered pizza last night.
Using a coupon, I got two medium one-topping pizzas, cheesy bread, and a 2 liter soda, but the total before any tip was around $25.00. Maybe it's not too bad for what all I got but other places are cheaper and the food is just as good.
Anyway, like I said, their pizza is good and the deliver pretty quickly, but I don't order from them very often.
This is the sausage pizza. I also got a beef pizza.
