The Kitchen, Memphis, TN

The Kitchen

MAP

The Kitchen is a small restaurant on Austin Peay Highway a little north of Stage Road. I went there a few days ago based on a suggestion I saw on Facebook.

I got a smashburger and my friend got a burger and catfish.

The service was good and the food was good and fairly reasonably priced. The total for my order was just under $20. Most of they business seems to be to go orders.

Now, for a bit of a negative point. They had two different kinds of music blasting in the restaurant. In the seating area there was a general sort of electronic tone like you might hear in an elevator. In the kitchen there was music coming from a radio station. The issue was, both were extremely loud. I don't mean "If it's too loud you're too old." I mean it was overly loud and every few minutes the cook in the kitchen kept turning up the music coming from the kitchen. The music coming from the kitchen was so loud my friend and I literally couldn't hear each other speaking. If that's an issue for you then your best option is to order to go if you want to try them.

I won't say I won't go back but if I do I will only make a to go order unless it's different next time.

For the food I definitely recommend them. The food was very good.
