Farm Burger, Memphis, TN

Farm Burger

MAP

Farm Burger is a "grass fed" burger restaurant in Memphis on Concourse Avenue just off Watkins Street near the intersection of North Parkway (the west end of Summer Avenue). Normally I don't review chain restaurants but I was under the impression this was a local restaurant until I started this review just now, plus it's relatively new and I think it's worth a mention.

I went there earlier tonight for dinner and I really liked it. It's in the old Sears Crosstown building which has been remodeled in the last few years to house restaurants, a movie theater, a medical facility, and living quarters. This is the first time I'd been and I only went to the burger restaurant.

The food was really good. I ordered a chorizo patty melt which is a burger melt with chorizo sausage on it. I don't know how to compare it since I've never had a chorizo burger anywhere else but it was really good. It tasted a little like the duck patty melt at South of Beale.

Prices are reasonable for what I got. My burger, a side order of Parmesan cheese fries (everything is ala carte), and two cans of Diet Coke was about $15 including tax, before tip.

The food was really good, it came out pretty quickly, and the staff was very friendly. If you're from Memphis there is also probably an element of nostalgia.

My friend ordered a plain cheeseburger, probably with just ketchup (he doesn't put much on his burgers) but he said it was very good.

  1. Oh, that chorizo patty melt & parmesan fries sound so good! Have you ever tried the family owned Mexican restaurant, La Siesta, on Commerce St,, in Hernando? It’s in a little strip of shops, on the right, just past the post office. Very good, and popular for both lunch and dinner.
