Hog and Hominy is an Italian fusion restaurant on Brookhaven Circle West just north of Poplar Avenue. I went there tonight for the fist time. I did not know it was Italian. I had heard their burger was really good so that's what I went there to try.
There were several items on the menu that sounded really good but I ordered the burger, which they call the John T. Burger. It comes with onion, yellow mustard, American cheese, and pickled lettuce, and an order of fries.
The fries were really good but yo be completely honest, the burger wasn't as good as I was expecting BUT it was still very good. For my personal tastes I added a little ketchup but it was fine the way it came as well.
They come highly recommended and apparently received a Michelin recommendation (not the same as receiving a Michelin Star, but still very impressive as there are only four restaurants in Memphis with a Michelin recommendation.
Even though I am saying the burger wasn't as good as I was expecting, please note that it was very good and I will definitely be back!
The prices were reasonable for what it is. A friend of mine and I both got the burger and the total including tax was about $42 including a $4 drink that I ordered.
